My job hunt hasn’t been going that well, I’ve had three in person interviews and two of them never got back to me while the other one as like we decided to go with someone with different experience. Tomorrow, I have two interviews, the first is an in person interview for a field engineer job in ATL the other is for a frac engineer job out in Colorado. I had them both scheduled perfectly and well of course the first job now wants to move the interview to when the phone call was scheduled. Great now I have to wait for them to get back to me, so I can still do both interviews, this is stressing me out, I’m going for a drive. Also doesn’t help my CC bill from last month was $6670.13, I had my car break down, had an insurance bill, and paid to move myself back home. Some income would be nice.

I do contract work - move from job to job. Last week a firm called me and solicited me to come in for a job interview. I haven’t interviewed for a permanent position since 2003, so I wondered how I’d do. I think I did fine because I don’t need the job, and I won’t accept it unless the terms are good.

Funny how things work.

Best of luck - engineers are in demand, I’ve heard.

Yeah I saw your post the other day, doesn’t sound like you’re having the best of luck either.

Not sure I want to be in oil anymore, it did pay pretty good though.

Apparently my skill set hasn’t been in demand, or at least yet.

So many lawyers have my skill set, but I do my best to distinguish myself. Head down, produce results, don’t spend too much time on the internet. I have contacts developed over 10 years. They still might not be enough ....

Looking forward to hearing what you decide. I was picking purely on place, not job.

I went to college in Atlanta and got a lot of family and friends in the metro ATL area. Based on that I’d chose ATL; however, I did enjoy frac when I was there, I didn’t enjoy all the caveats that went along with that job, but I could be convinced to return. I really wanted to try and move to a production company and be a completions engineer when I was working at SLB.
